Emergency, Critical Care, and Hospitalization

We offer robust hospitalization, emergency and critical care services at Caring Hands. We routinely manage the most severe cases in our hospital and are able to offer top-level care of some of the most advanced diseases right here in Sampson County. We have veterinary assistants dedicated solely to our critical hospitalized patients that oversee cases directed by our doctors.

Obstetrics and Peri-Natal Care

At Caring Hands, we are pleased to offer advanced obstetrics and peri-natal care. We perform thousands of artificial inseminations and caesarian sections every year. Our experienced team of both doctors and nurses work very hard to get both the mother and the puppies through the procedure in their most critical moments of life.

Radiology

Radiology – or X-rays – help our veterinarians evaluate muscular-skeletal, cardiovascular (cardiopulmonary), gastrointestinal, reproductive and urinary systems. We use one of the industries finest digital units.

Ultrasonography

We offer access to ultrasonography, a tool that both veterinarians and physicians alike use on a daily basis to get an in-depth view into our patients' bodies and aid in diagnosis and treatment of diseases. We offer services both in-house and outpatient services through Dr. Sloan Turner, DVM, BS, DACVR who is a board-certified radiologist in our network of specialists that we prefer to refer to.

Boarding

Pets are like our children – we feed, nurture and lavish attention on them. Our highly qualified kennel attendants do the same when you can't be there. We provide tender loving care (such as brushing and cuddling), and supervised outdoor playtime to keep them happy and active. Our facility is well heated and air conditioned.

Bathing

Treat your pet to a luxurious bath. Our special, cleansing baths remove dirt, debris and that doggie pet odor – your pet will feel fresh and revitalized. If scratching is a problem, our medicated baths contain soothing agents that stop the itching. Additional services are available including nail trim and ear cleaning.

Grief Counseling Service

Unfortunately, in all medical fields, death is a factor that can't be escaped. During this time pet owners and veterinarians grieve together. We now offer grief counseling service for clients to consult when needed. Mrs. Sarah Hesketh, our grief counselor, worked for many years as a labor and delivery nurse and grief counselor at Sampson Regional Medical Center. She has a passion for extending love and support to people in the worst times of their lives. If you or a loved one needs to discuss with Mrs. Hesketh, please contact the staff at Caring Hands for contact information.
