In 1919, Dr. J.I. Weeks (1889-1977) became the first veterinarian in Sampson County when he started Week's Animal Clinic in downtown Clinton on 218 McCoy St. which the building still stands today. In 1974, following in his father's foot steps, Dr. John L. Weeks (1928-2007) purchased roughly 8 acres on North Boulevard. He built the current building in 1975 and moved the practice shortly after, remodeling again a few years later to make up for the increase in business. Dr. John L. Weeks continued to grow the practice of both large and small animals. Dr. Danny R. Henry began practicing at Week's Animal Clinic in 1985 shortly after receiving his doctorate from LSU. He became junior partner in 1990 and has grown the business to its current status bringing on several associate doctors through the years. In the early 2000s, once becoming senior partner, Dr. Henry changed the name of the practice to Caring Hands Animal Hospital. In 2022, Dr. Graham N. DiPinto joined the practice, becoming junior partner in 2025.
Dr. Henry and Dr. DiPinto continue to operate the practice together and have grown it tremendously focusing on high quality medicine, soft tissue and orthopedic surgery and service to Sampson County and surrounding areas. Their main goal is to be able to offer high quality services at an affordable price otherwise only accessible in referral/specialty practices in larger cities.
