Associate Veterinarian

Dr. Lucas was born and raised in Wilson County, NC. She attended North Carolina State University where she obtained her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 1990. Following graduation, she worked in small animal emergency medicine where she gained valuable experience managing the most traumatic and critical cases. She also has extensive knowledge in large animal medicine as well. Dr. Lucas has lived in Sampson County for the past 25 years on her small farm where she cares for her 4 dogs, mules, sheep, chickens, rabbits and cats. Her hobbies include riding and showing mules. She also loves the beach where she enjoys taking the short drive down to paddle board on the weekends. Ask anyone who works at Caring Hands, and they will tell you that there is no Dr. Lucas without her loving Carolina Cattle Dog, 'Lay Lay' following close behind her or hanging out in the back doctor's office getting all the love from the nurses and staff.
